Early Bird Dinner at Blackie’s

Article 3 of 13 in PAM Bulletin Vol 39, No 4

by Michael Chesnes and Jill Postma

Please join us for the PAM Early Bird Dinner at 6:00 PM on Saturday, July 14. Jill Postma has made arrangements for us to eat at Blackie’s Chicago on 755 South Clark Street, (312-786-1161). Blackie’s has been a family-owned fixture in the Printer’s Row neighborhood of the Loop since 1939 and has been visited by a number of celebrities over the years.

We’ll have a fixed price menu with your choice of “The Blackie’s Burger,” pasta primavera, and a spring green salad with or without grilled chicken. PLUS a brownie a-la-mode for dessert. All for $22 per person. (Price includes unlimited soft drinks and coffee, but no alcoholic beverages. Cash bar separate.) We’ll meet for dinner in one of their private rooms until 8 p.m. – but can stay and have fun in their bar and/or garden area as long as we want afterwards. Please send checks to Michael Chesnes at the address below.

No transportation is provided, so we’ll meet at the restaurant. Blackie’s is near stops on the Red, Orange, and Brown “L” train lines.

And don’t confuse it with that Boston Blackie’s.
