You can add PAM to your SLA membership on the SLA website (www.sla.org). Go to Membership > Change/Add Units and download the form linked there. Fill it out and send it in to SLA. Alternatively, you can just add PAM as a division the next time you renew your membership. In the meantime, go to http://pam.sla.org/manual/pamnet-information/ for info on signing up for the PAM listserv, which is the Division’s primary means of communication.

I think the decision to limit the number of sessions, coupled with the decision a few years ago to only allow sessions between the Opening (Sun evening) and Closing (Wed afternoon) sessions will reduce the relevance of the SLA conference to the practicing librarian by reducing the number of general-interest sessions. The high registration cost gets harder to justify when there are fewer sessions.

It would be interesting to know the reasons for the change.
